From Monday 12 April our opening hours are Monday – Saturday, 9.30am – 5.30pm
In the Bookshop
It’s incredibly important for us to make sure the bookshop is a safe place for customers and bookshop staff, so:
- All customers will need to use the hand sanitiser as they enter the shop.
- All customers must wear a face covering when in the bookshop (unless you have a valid exemption). We can only have 10 customers in the bookshop at any one time (5 in the main shop, 5 in the children’s side), and ask that all customers maintain social distancing whilst on the premises.
- To minimise queueing times for customers waiting to come in, if you have a complex order, please do phone us ahead of your visit.
- Our toilets are for staff use only at the current time.
Orders and Deliveries
Our online shop will still be open for anyone looking to have books posted, and we’ll still be offering a click & collect service.
With our booksellers out serving in the shop from the 12th, we ask that customers wait until receiving a confirmation email before coming to collect any orders, so we can make sure to have your books ready.
Local delivery will move to being once a fortnight for anyone still isolating or shielding.
As it’s not been possible for customers to redeem loyalty stamp cards throughout lockdown, we will of course start taking them again once the shop reopens on the 12th April. If you are a regular customer who has accumulated lots of stamps, we would really appreciate it if you could spread redemptions out over several purchases. There are lots of brilliant books coming out over the next few months, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to use them!
For anyone who has bought a book from our shop stock (not special orders) since 1 December 2020 which they would like to return, we are extending our returns period by 28 days. You will need to get books back to us by Monday 10 May. In accordance with our usual returns policy, books must be returned to us in pristine condition.
