Description
Scandal, vicious rumour and diminished fortune have all but destroyed the prospects of a desirable marriage for the Binat sisters. Alys, the second and most practical of the five, has found happiness teaching English to schoolgirls. Knowing that many of her students won’t make it to graduation before dropping out to marry, Alys teaches them about Jane Austen and hopes to inspire them to dream of more. Alys herself has sworn never to marry, but an encounter with one Mr Darsee at a high-society wedding makes her reconsider.
